Because
of it’s proximity to Lufkin, Nacogdoches, and
Houston, Diboll offers the many advantages of small
town life but with relatively easy access to all of
the shopping, medical, entertainment and other services
usually available only in a much larger city.
Diboll
is the center of the East Texas timber industry. Temple
Inland Forest Products Corporation is the city’s
main employer, with numerous Temple Inland offices and
plants located in Diboll. Civic clubs and organizations
include the Diboll Booster Club, Lions Club, Diboll
Garden Club, Diboll Rotary Club, Volunteer Fire Department,
Masonic Lodge, Order of the Easter Star, 4-H Clubs,
Pilot Club, Fair Acres Community Center, Diboll Historical
Society, Christian Outreach, Boy Scouts, Brownie Scouts
and Girl Scouts. Our schools are supported by organizations
such as the Diboll Band Boosters, Jackbackers Athletic
Boosters, and the Diboll Parent Teacher Student Association.
The
T.L.L. Temple Memorial Library is an excellent
public library and the city golf course, Neches Pines,
is one of the best public golf courses in the area.
The Katherine Sage Temple Child Day Care Center is just
one of the many fine day care centers in the Diboll
area. Youth groups within the city are Diboll Youth
Baseball and Softball Leagues, Little Dribblers Basketball
League and an outstanding Boys and Girls Club.
The
Diboll Housing Authority provides a summer
program for youths, and the city provides programs including
summer swimming. With numerous churches, civic and social
organizations and a progressive, state-recognized school
system, Diboll is a wonderful place to live and to raise
children.
