Important Announcement Regarding School Closure

Dear Parents,
We continue to monitor the ever changing dynamics and impact of the COVID-19 virus.  We know it is an uncertain time for you, your family and our school children.  Our top priority is to keep our students and staff safe and help the greater community combat the spread of the virus. As a result, the Diboll Independent School District will remain closed through April 3rd.  Our hope is that we will be able to resume school on Monday, April 6th.
To ensure continuation of educational services, we will be distributing instructional packets and technology devices as needed by grade level.  This Friday, March 20th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., campuses will be distributing the first series of these instructional packets by grade level and course that are required to be completed by all students.  We ask that parents drive up/ walk up to each campus their child / children attend and receive the instructional materials.  For high school students, they may pick up their instructional materials in the high school cafeteria this Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. as well. related.  As per best health practices, we will allow 10 high school students into the cafeteria at one time to quickly receive their packets and then depart the campus. We also ask that you visit the campus websites where your student(s) attend for more specific details regarding completion of online work and off-line work, due dates, when the next learning packets will need to be picked up,etc.  Teachers will be available online to assist with questions and guidance throughout the school closure time frame. I want to express deep gratitude to our teachers who have planned the instruction so students will be able to continue their learning and they are ready to support them.  I know we will have your understanding as we move to this type of instructional delivery process.  We are learning and working to have the most effective delivery and support for you, your student(s)and your family. We will get better everyday.
The Child Nutrition Department will continue to provide daily drive through lunch and next day breakfast service.   This is for any student 18 years or younger. You can view the satellite sites and times located on our Diboll ISD website.
We have posted resources for you on how to visit with your child if they are experiencing fears or worry about COVID-19.
Please check our DISD website and campus website as we will be posting additional information and instructional support ideas for your use.  Please keep in mind that children need routine and structure. Best practices will be to have specific times that they work on their instruction and a space where they can work effectively and efficiently.
I know that there will be many questions that arise as time goes on.  Most pressing for our seniors is the prom and graduation.  We are working to make a determination and more information will be forthcoming. As always, we appreciate your patience, understanding and continued support.
