Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and UIL guidelines, Diboll ISD is limiting the number of spectators at any indoor event. A voucher system will be used in order to ensure compliance related to capacity. The voucher is not purchased, it is delivered / picked up by the individual and then allows the individual to bring the voucher to the event and pay for a ticket. If you do not have a voucher, you cannot purchase a voucher at the gym.
At least one week prior to the contest, the District will send vouchers to the VISITING school along with seating information. The VISITING school will distribute that number of vouchers at their discretion. Fans will bring that voucher to the gym entrance where, with the voucher, they may purchase a ticket and enter the event.
Any vouchers that are not distributed will be given to the event ticket taker for sale to the general public on a first come / first serve basis. The home school can choose to sell the remaining seats at the door or not. Diboll ISD will not allow anyone in the event unless a voucher is presented and a ticket is purchased.
Not every school district will look exactly the same, due to gym capacity. Some schools may allow more capacity due to larger facilities and there are certain schools not allowing any spectators at all.
Our voucher priority will be parents of athletes, performing groups (cheer), team managers, and coaches. Based on building capacity, size of teams and number of game workers, Diboll ISD will provide the following voucher allotments:
Junior High and High School Basketball games
Home Team – 3 vouchers per athlete, manager, coach and cheerleader
Visiting Team – 2 vouchers per athlete, manager, coach and cheerleader
Again, not every school district is doing the same exact process due to gym capacity. Some schools may have more capacity while some schools are not allowing any spectators.
