Yesterday our Wind Symphony traveled to Bullard for UIL Concert & Sightreading Contest. Our students walked away with a 1st Division rating from all six judges. A 1st Division is given to the bands who give a "Superior" performance. This along with our 1st Division at Marching Contest gives our band the Sweepstakes award, which only happens when 1st Division is given at all three contests.This is the first consecutive Sweepstakes in program history, and the third time achieving Sweepstakes in program history. We hope that it is the start of many more.If you see any band students please congratulate them! They have worked extremely hard, and schools and directors around the state have taken note. This performance included our 8th musicians! Some of them sit at the top of our sections which is a sign we should continue in this positive direction.
