The Diboll ISD Board of Trustees name Principal at Diboll High School at June Board Meeting

Mrs. Sheila Stephens has been named the Principal of Diboll High School. 


Mrs. Stephens has been serving in education for 16 years.  The past twelve years have been within educational leadership, most recently at Diboll High School where she served as the assistant principal. Prior to Diboll, she  served in Cleveland as the principal at Eastside Elementary and then as the principal for Cleveland Middle School.  Mrs. Stephens  has also served as an Instructional Specialist and Testing Coordinator for Livingston High School, and as the Girls Athletic Coordinator in Corrigan ISD.  She started her career in education working at Huntington Middle School as a Teacher and Coach. 


Mrs. Stephens received her Bachelors of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University and went on to receive her Masters in Educational Administration and Principal Certification from the University of Texas at Tyler. Mrs. Stephens was named Cleveland ISD Principal of the Year in 2017.  She is a member of the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals.  Mrs. Stephens stated, “ It is an honor to be named  as the Interim Principal for Diboll High School. “  She says that she understands the magnitude of this position and will endeavor to empower and inspire our students to success. 


Mrs. Stephens has lived in Lufkin, Texas for the past 27 years.  She is  married to David Stephens, who has served in East Texas as an attorney since 1980.  Together they have  six  grown sons who are successful in their own right.  Her oldest son has made a career in fabrication where he runs a successful business in Huntsville, Tx.  Her second and third  sons are both in the medical field.  One  is a nurse at Huntsville Memorial and the other is a Doctor,  in his 2nd year of residency at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, Tx.   Her fourth son is a professional baseball player who pitches for the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Her last two sons are seniors at Stephen F. Austin.  One aspires to be a teacher and coach, and the other is studying computer science.   


Mrs. Stephens truly understands that each child is driven by different interests and ideas.  She  stated, “I am excited about the possibilities that this school year will bring, and I am so very proud to continue serving Diboll ISD.”
