Dr. Nora Mosby named Director of Bands for Diboll ISD at the April Board of Trustee meeting

Dr. Mosby is in her 25th year in education serving students as a band and orchestra     director in Texas and Arizona. She is a native of East Texas having graduated from Carthage High School where she was a performing member of the Carthage High School Marching Band under the direction of the late Stuart Bird.

She will be coming to Diboll High School from Rogers High School where she has served as the Director of Bands for the past five years. Under her leadership, the Rogers High School Band earned their first UIL Sweepstakes Award (2021) in almost a decade, received a 1st Division and 1st Place at the USBands Competition (2019, 2020, 2021), and advanced to the UIL AREA Marching Band Competition (2019, 2020, and 2021) where they were UIL AREA Finalists in 2020. Her concert, marching, and jazz bands have performed and received high honors throughout Texas, Arizona, Florida, and California.

Dr. Mosby holds a Bachelor of Science (1995) and Master of Arts (1997) degrees from the University of Texas at Tyler, Master of Education degrees in Educational Leadership (2005) and Bilingual Education (2012) from Northern Arizona University, and a Doctorate of Education (2020) from Capella University.

Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, National Association of Military Marching Bands, Association of Texas Small School Bands, International Clarinet Association, National Association for Music Education, Phi Beta Kappa, Kappa Psi Kappa Honor Society, and the Golden Key International Honour Society.
