Steve and each month we have a parenting class so it has a different top I think we also have choc are free childcare. So be available so we hope we can reach out to our parents and their children and don't come up here this month I last month it was on suicide prevention and we had a great turnout this month it's on bullying prevention so October is the national prevention for Bullion list of world together and so there's several things are going to talk about tonight I what is Boolean what can we do for forty percenters and upcoming event it's not really long I know it's kind of scary isn't it we need to know the differences between bouillon and normal and mr. taco so that's going to be our Focus so the difference between boy and complex bullying is an imbalance of power for an equal power of Fran people have conflict also going is repeated negative actions when you have complicate just happens occasionally the boy and again it's purposeful and then do you have a complex and you might be having a great day and all the sudden has accomplished you never know very accidental bowling at Sears with red a physical or emotional harm sounds like it's equal emotional reaction so we want to play I also would bow and the strong emotional reaction from victim reaction from the individual doing the bull yet no one seeking power attention they just had a conflict they swing on also we're going to have a chance to game two. Things are power the conflict or not trying to get anything they just had a disagreement I was born again there's no remorse victim with conflict there is from Wars people take responsibility you're right I was wrong and then the last one there's no effort to solve the problem the boy just continues and continues with complex you are seeking for a solution set a different just briefly on the different the boys the boiling a single snake attack or pattern of Acts by one or more students directed another student likes boys imbalance of power If I Was Written or verbal expression expression we talked about earlier and regard the differences between Foley and conflict there is an imbalance what does it look like it damages the state of property and bridges on the students ride to school physically harmed it's a very pervasive at the assistant by his student Rachel fear of harm but you're essentially materially and substantially disrupt the education process enough of a threat create a meeting for and or abusive Erica Danielle there's different types of aliens you got and gender Abilene you got raised our religion natural origin you got disability I sometimes you just have flat Out Boy until there are several different tie the most that we see is just basic Boolean we have to report to the state on whether it's on a gender is a religion if it's disability doesn't think that we have to report on so let's talk about cyberbullying this is been really the biggest Topic in the last couple years if people are reaching out to others to their cell phones through the internet for their emails. electronic communication for unicellular or other type of phone or computer a camera email instant messaging texting social media and internet website or any other internet-based communicate you ever thought we'd have had that much technology to do something through it just keeps growing each year there's something new that's added to it so occurs on or are a delivery by on school property or at a store like his school sponsored event occurs in a vehicle used to transport students or three or four a behavior that car is off campus can qualify cyberbullying if it's if yet it says school-sponsored Restore Life again and a with the educational opportunities at the student sustainably disrupt the orderly operation classroom school or School sponsor Lane activity scared to come to school we want to know you know if they're scared because they were sent and that's it we need to know about that because we don't know we don't have access to their phone but if they're doing it when we definitely need to be notified that was one really was brought to the Forefront to David's law this is a kid who lost his life because of cyberbullying and so they made a law Senate Bill 199 Behavior victims record for such actions and poses a stricter punishment for perpetrators so if it requires school districts include cyber bullying a boy prevention which we do and policy the Akron investigation is complete Senate Bill 199 allow the visiting School fishing to make a report to law enforcement if they have reasonable grounds to believe that the student gave him conduct constitutes a criminal offense that's new you see we didn't have that ability examples of hyperbole in sending posts and are sharing negative harmful thoughts or mean talking about someone else including private photos or videos during personal or private about someone else causing bear the boy and the tistic about 20% of students ages 12-18 experience going Nationwide among students ages 12-18 he reported being bullied at school 15% for boys online order as soon as I get 12 to 18 experience. Taxable and included being the subject of rumors and lies being made fun of called names or insulted push-up trips or spit on leaving being left out or threatened with harm others tried to make him do that they don't want to do and property was destroyed on purpose so you see the percentage of its broken down Sandoval and Decline and gray depression or sadness participate in activities increased absenteeism class of school and changing the meter after using their cell phone or computer the first number to we're going to look at ways to respond to go again if you want if what you're saying is going to respond to me when the next step is reportable the take immediate and it's a reaction to your staff membership always take the matter seriously and file a report and Report any potential boy and cyberbullying and sent to the appropriate school officials as soon as should also be assured the district will take the issue seriously every campus has a trained professional to do the boy investigation principles and a piece and counselors work together to make sure that that policy and procedures followed somebody we don't ignore it and we should never ignore it so I don't think he has to work it out without the guidance of adults don't sort it out immediately get the facts don't question the kids involved together because then they may we can or they may feel fear because you know they're with the other with other person we separate them when we do the investigation and then we don't ask them publicly any questions and we don't resolve it neatly we have 10 days to do the investigation so how to respond I want a dull chest pain quickly and consistently going behaviors they send the message that it's not acceptable for research shows that it can stop the bullying overtime I always separate the children and the teams or whoever's involved and let him know that it's not okay and we get to go adults and ball and we'll make sure everyone safe then we check out made any immediate medical or mental health needs are you sure the victim that they will be provided assistance in time there's a bullying situation they do have the can you do at 6 weeks of boy in Castle and also with our victims as well as our perpetrators and we need to stay calm and be sure that we are respectful behavior when the Entertainer they're pouring volume Indian volume I probably reported when we see it or hear about it happening there are few ways that we can report the only one as we got an anonymous alert do you get on your cell phone and go to your apps where you can download them simple and you can record it on your phone you can also do it on the computer if you go to our website. All I see it's also on the website and report but you can also do it by your phone all the ministers have access to those report anytime there's a report may it come straight to ortho they'll also I'm at the number to report directly to the campus counselor ministrator and remember include any details as possible who what when and where and then we follow up once report and the behavior has been reported to make sure that we can work in Irving the number 3 prevent volume prevent bullying by being in pain and cultivate inclusive storm by Irma so policy at Diboll is at Boyne prohibited retaliation prohibited I we have a procedure a procedure done to find the parents of victims with no apparent within 3 days and then we notified the perpetrator when are we going out with times we got them information we educate students and teachers on what action to take and interventions available for Bullion we met Council diable like I spoke about a few minutes ago they also lost we're going in and we also prohibits an imposition of disciplinary measures on a student who after investigations found to be a victim of bullying on the basis of the students use a regional self-defense I am responsible for blowing up student with disability our campuses are are used to I kind of dig our campus you'll see things hang up on the wall I would have to play it safe program Dating Violence and education consent for hostile camps it and then we talked about and if the boy is so how to recognize our fun for Venice bowling is respond Avenue in first place I could trivia compassionate Place events that we want to recognize the differences between Foley and healthy, intervene immediately when we see bullying at whether it's face-to-face or online or 4 creating healthy I buy modeling clay some kind of hater arsaga's the bat boy in a nutshell so question I'll wait three days and then that's a minimum of three days so that is that just giving y'all time to investigate as well so we follow the guidelines were given to us and said we have to notify by three days notify me immediately but we have to have the information to so if you if someone reports it to the ministrator on Friday at 3 we don't have a lot of information and we want to make sure we have do Monday morning that get on it but that way also the reason we have to report it in less than three days is because Atlanta and you're not caught up you're not caught off guard with it and so we are both victim and the perpetrator mediately because we want you involved in it we want to be part of Investigation as we do the investigation so the more you know the more involvement has a parent and then the school we can work closely together to resolve the issue that we have 10 days to finish the roof is it you know sometimes we have people are absent and cozy and if we have a lot of absences then we have to ask for an extension only for the time for the students come back so we can finish them but everybody that's involved is so if they if they say there's five people saying around we interview all my people we don't go off this one comment the other thing when you report anonymously the catch is that you can report something but if you don't give us a call you back and then we can't call back and not and we either we take all matter serious and every October every campus educates the kids on the weekend and bystanders what what do you do if you see a the one being bullied and just proactive ways to not be a boy you know that what friendship is and so we spent the whole month but we keep adding each year for month of October for boy in
