Why I Love DISD: By Ms. Wright, High School Librarian
People always think I'm crazy for commuting to work in Diboll every day from my home in Nacogdoches, but I have happily made the drive for almost 8 years now because I don't want to work anywhere else. From a teacher's perspective, DISD is the best district I've ever worked for in my 20+ years in public education, and it's worth the commute to be here. No other district has ever made me feel so supported, valued, and respected as a professional, and I hope to stay here until I retire. Diboll gives me the resources I need to be successful in my career, and the trust they place in my abilities and professional judgment means that I can use my expertise to support our students without being micromanaged or hamstrung. It's a fantastic district, and I'm proud to work here!
