Video Surveillance of Special Education Settings

Texas Education Code §29.022 requires school districts and open-enrollment charter schools, to place, operate, and maintain video cameras with audio recording capability in certain Self-contained Classrooms and Other Special Education Settings for students with disabilities, upon the request of a parent, the District’s Board of Trustees, Principal, Assistant Principal, or staff member, as defined herein, for the purpose of promoting student safety in certain self-contained classrooms and other special education settings.
